This Security Deposit Refund Policy explains how the refundable deposit is charged, managed, and refunded for all users of the Readle World website and mobile application.

By subscribing to a membership plan and using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.


1. About the Security Deposit

  • A one-time refundable security deposit of ₹1000 is charged when you purchase your first Readle World membership.

  • This deposit is collected only once per user, regardless of future renewals or plan changes.

  • The purpose of the deposit is to cover potential loss, damage, or non-return of books.


2. Conditions for Deposit Refund

Your security deposit is eligible for refund only when all of the following conditions are met:

  1. You have returned all Subscribed books in good, readable condition.

  2. Your current reading cycle (30 or 60 days) has been completed.

  3. There are no active orders, pending returns, or overdue books.

  4. Your account is not under review for missing or damaged books.

  5. You have submitted a proper withdrawal request.

Once these conditions are fulfilled, the refund process will begin.


3. How to Request Withdrawal

Users can request refund of their security deposit by:

  • Visiting the Security Deposit Withdrawal section in their dashboard

  • Clicking the Request Withdrawal button

  • Providing any required verification details

4. Refund Timeline

Once your request is approved, your refund will be processed within:

7–15 working days

Processing time may vary depending on your payment provider, bank, or UPI service.


5. Refund Method

Refunds will be issued through:

  • The original payment method (preferred), or

  • A bank/UPI account provided by the user during the withdrawal request (if applicable)

You will be notified by email or SMS once the refund is processed.


6. Deductions (If Applicable)

Readle World reserves the right to deduct charges from the security deposit in the following cases:

6.1 Lost Books

If a user fails to return one or both books, replacement cost may be deducted.

6.2 Damaged Books

Charges may apply if books are returned with:

  • Torn or missing pages

  • Water damage

  • Burn marks

  • Severe staining

  • Intentional damage

  • Damage affecting reusability

6.3 Late or Non-Return

If a user repeatedly ignores reminders or refuses to return books, the deposit may be fully forfeited.

All charges will be communicated to the user before processing the refund.


7. Non-Refundable Situations

The deposit may not be refunded if:

  • Books are not returned

  • Books are significantly damaged

  • User violates Subscription terms repeatedly

  • Fraudulent activity is detected

  • User’s account is blocked due to misuse

  • User submits false or misleading information


8. Continuing to Use the Service After Withdrawal

Once you request a refund of the deposit:

  • Your membership will be marked as inactive

  • You will not be able to Subscribe new books

  • To resume book Subscription services, you must pay the security deposit again
